The Soderquist Center for Leadership and Ethics Fall Seminar

Siloam Springs, Ark (September 20, 2001) - On October 2, 2001, the Soderquist Center for Leadership and Ethics (SCLE) along with an incredible line-up of speakers will investigate topics of truth, leadership, compliance and values through a variety of keynote addresses, breakout sessions and experiential laboratories during the Leadership Expedition: Ethical Tools for the Journey seminar on the campus of John Brown University.

The theme for this powerful one-day seminar will focus on equipping individuals with specific resources and guiding principles to courageously lead within their organizations. This highly interactive journey into the issues of ethics and business will offer opportunities for personal interaction between speakers and participants. Expedition guides for the day include top executives, corporate trainers, politicians and professors. The Leadership Expedition presenters are Michele Hunt of Vision and Values, Dr. John Copeland of Tyson Foods, Inc., Tom Muccio and Darrell Rosen of Procter and Gamble Worldwide, Greg Fike of Educational Services, Dr. Delia Haak of John Brown University, Buddy Pilgrim of Simmons Foods, Inc., Arkansas Senator John Brown III and Don Soderquist formerly of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.

The opening keynote speaker, Stew Leonard Jr., the President and CEO of Stew Leonard’s Farm Fresh Produce, will answer the personal question, “What do you tell your kids when Grandpa is sent to prison?” His moving testimony will explore what happens when good people make unethical decisions. He will warn of the compromises that contribute to unprincipled actions and the need for personal integrity and accountability.

The SCLE is committed to promote the enrichment and growth of world-class leaders who will raise ethical standards in their own lives as well as in the companies and organizations they serve. The Center will do this through a variety of resources, experiential learning opportunities, seminars, corporate training sessions, graduate and undergraduate education and team development initiatives.
