Guidebook for Nursing Students

The Guidebook for Nursing Students has been developed to provide you with information about the mission, outcomes, policies and procedures pertinent to applicants and students of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program. Its purpose is to assist you in the understanding of the policies and guidelines that are specific to the Department of Nursing. It is a supplement to the information provided in both the John Brown University Undergraduate Catalog and Student Handbook.

As part of a summer clinical course option, nursing students may travel to Guatemala or Malawi to help with patient care, medicine distribution, monitoring growth and health of students, and providing home care for people suffering from respiratory, gastrointestinal, or other health-related issues. In Guatemala, JBU students work alongside Guatemalan native Dr. Layla Chanquin, seeing patients in her clinic as well as in local schools and homes. The Guatemala and Malawi trips are just two of several partnership opportunities being developed for our JBU nursing students to fulfill part of their required clinical hours.
