Communicating Hope in Christ
90.9 KLRC, located in historic downtown Siloam Springs, Arkansas, serves the Fayetteville radio market and has been in operation since October 1983. Starting out as a 100-watt campus-only radio station, the station has grown to reach more than 80,000 listeners each week on five different signals throughout Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley. In addition, KLRC also operates the Real FM radio app, which features refreshing pop and hip-hop music. The station also produces a variety of podcasts on the KLRC Podcast Network, which now exceeds 1,000,000 downloads in 43 countries.
KLRC is a unique radio station because it has a dual purpose. First and foremost, KLRC exists to communicate hope in Christ through positive music and programming to people who listen to mainstream radio. Because of this, KLRC strives for excellence in all facets of operations, from production to listener relations, all the way up to the final on-air sound.
But KLRC also serves as a training ground for students enrolled at John Brown University. Our university's founder understood the importance of radio ministry and was a pioneer in radio broadcasting in the 1920s. That tradition continues. KLRC continues to provide students with a hands-on learning experience to supplement classroom learning.
In recent years, 90.9 KLRC has achieved amazing success. The station has been named the Radio Station of the Year by the Christian Music Broadcasters and the Gospel Music Association five times. We have also been honored to receive the Rob Gregory Community Service Award from the Christian Music Broadcasters. The National Association of Broadcasters also awarded KLRC with one of its most prestigious honors – the Marconi Award for Excellence in Radio. Locally, readers of Citiscapes Magazine have named KLRC the Best Radio Station in Northwest Arkansas for eight consecutive years.
KLRC strives to make a positive difference in the communities in which we broadcast. KLRC outreaches such as "Pay it Forward" and "KLRC Christmas Wish" have seen a great outpouring of support from listeners. With God's leading and your help, our passion is to make an even greater difference in the community in the years to come.
Thanks for listening to the Positive Difference, 90.9 KLRC!
