Frequently Asked Questions
When should I purchase airline tickets?
You may purchase your tickets whenever you wish. Some experts recommend purchasing tickets for international travel 4-6 months prior to planned departure.
What is the baggage allowance?
Baggage restrictions often vary by airline. It is important to refer to the airline’s international baggage regulations prior to packing, as these can change without notice.
Due to bus size (in country) and included porterage, we can only allow one checked bag and one small carry-on item.
When should I arrive in Ireland
Please plan to depart the U.S. on Thursday, September 3, 2026, and arrive in Dublin (DUB) on the morning of Friday, September 4, 2026.
When should I depart from Ireland?
Please plan to depart from Dublin (DUB) on Sunday, September 13, 2026.
Should I purchase Travel Insurance?
Travel insurance is not required, but we would recommend that you consider it to protect your investment in this trip.
What is included in the $4,100 trip cost?
Please see the Costs page.
Are all gratuities included?
Yes. We will tip drivers, hotel staff, and those serving you at applicable sites. This is included in your tour cost. We pray that this provision is a blessing and a testimony to those who serve you in Ireland.
What out-of-pocket expenses should I expect?
Please plan to bring spending money for some lunches or dinners (about $25-$35 per day), sodas, bottled water, and personal expenses such as souvenirs, laundry, or room service.
How much walking will we be doing?
You will average 1 to 2 miles of walking per day on your tour. This walking is done in small increments throughout the day and you will have frequent opportunities to rest if needed. To prepare yourself, start walking a little each day. We recommend properly “breaking in” any shoes you plan to wear while touring.
Who Will Lead the Tour?
William (Bill) Stevenson M.A., B.S., Global Engagement Officer, Assistant Professor of Intercultural Studies at JBU, will be leading our tour. Bill grew up in Belfast and manages the Irish Studies Program which includes the management of Lakeside Manor, JBU’s campus in Northern Ireland.
