Assistant Director of Athletics

This position serves as a member of the Athletics leadership team and assists with overall strategic direction for an expanding department. This individual will have key responsibilities in-game operations, eligibility and compliance, facility management, and assist in the athletic department's day-to-day operations. This is a part-time position.

Role Qualifications:

Position Responsibilities:

  • Direct oversight of NAIA and SAC eligibility for our student-athletes.
  • Stay updated on all NAIA and SAC rules and regulations.
  • Learn and assist in internal policies and procedures for athletics.
  • Develop, plan and assist in the coordination and execution of events that connect former student-athletes to the University.
  • Assist with developing and executing a JBU plan for NIL and for an Association of Student-Athletes.
  • Assist the team in developing strategies and events in fundraising for athletics.
  • Assist with the scheduling and maintenance of all athletic facilities.
  • Assist with the planning and scheduling of any post-season hosting opportunities.
  • Serve as a member of the athletics leadership team and assist with overall strategic direction
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in the administration of athletic programs.
  • Strong communicative, organizational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast paced, time sensitive environment.
  • Working knowledge of sport.
  • A suitable combination of education and experience may be substituted for minimum qualifications.
  • Contributing member of a strong team focused department.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Working knowledge of collegiate athletics.
  • Experience in rules compliance.

Education:

Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree Preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; stand; sit; use hands; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment: The noise level in the work environment can be excessive.
