Slingshot automatically fulfills and delivers all of your required course materials directly to you before classes start. Slingshot is a service of the JBU Campus Bookstore.
New on-campus undergraduate students are opted into Slingshot Premium by default and must opt-out if they do not want the service.
Plans & pricing
2024–2025
The JBU Campus Bookstore will bill Slingshot charges directly to your student account, typically during the first week of classes.
NOTE: Slingshot Premium+ (with iPads) is no longer available. Students currently on the plan will continue to pay $30 per credit hour.
Slingshot Premium
$27 / credit hour
Default plan. For students who want to be billed with a flat fee per credit hour for a mix of physical and digital rental content.
Print Upgrade
+$9.99 / credit hour
For students who prefer physical/printed course materials. A $9.99/per credit hour fee will be added for each course that has a physical book available.
Degree-seeking students may upgrade their Slingshot plan during the first seven days of classes.
They may opt out anytime before they receive their materials for the semester or academic session and up to seven days after they have received their materials

Billing details
The JBU Campus Bookstore bills Slingshot charges directly to your JBU student account, typically during the first week of classes. Subsequent registration changes may result in billing adjustments. B Session charges may not be billed until that session begins. Slingshot may bill additional fees during the semester or after the semester ends. Students may log in to the JBU Campus Bookstore to review the details of Slingshot charges. Please contact the JBU Campus Bookstore with questions about bookstore charges.
Book formats
By default, course materials will be a mix of physical book and eBook rentals depending on availability. Students may access eBooks by logging into the JBU Campus Bookstore website and clicking on the “My Course Materials” tab.
With Slingshot Premium or Premium+, students may select the Print Upgrade preference if they prefer physical/printed materials. A $9.99/per credit hour fee will be added for each course that has a physical book available.
Fees for past-due rentals
Rentals must be returned by their due date to avoid additional fees and expenses. Rentals not returned on time will result in a rental-not-returned fee charged to your student account, and the item will be converted into a purchase, also charged to your student account. Login to the JBU Campus Bookstore and navigated to the "My Course Materials" tab to find due dates and buyout options for your rentals.
How to opt-out or upgrade
Opt-out of Slingshot
To opt-out of your Slingshot plan, click here or call (479) 524-7195. You may opt-out anytime before you receive your materials for the semester or academic session and up to seven days after you have received your materials.
Once you opt-out, you will not be automatically opted back in for the next semester.
Students who opt out will be responsible for acquiring their own textbooks and course materials, which are not guaranteed to be in stock at the JBU Campus Bookstore.

Upgrade to Premium+
On-campus undergraduate students (traditional undergraduates) may upgrade to Slingshot Premium+ by visiting the JBU Campus Bookstore during the first seven days of classes. Upon upgrading, you will receive an iPad for an additional per-credit-hour charge to your JBU student account.
The iPad is not a rental. If you opt-out of Premium+ in a subsequent semester, the bookstore will bill an iPad buyout to your student account. For details, contact the JBU Campus Bookstore.
Print Upgrade
With Slingshot Premium or Premium+, you may select the Print Upgrade fulfillment preference in the "My Account" section of the JBU Campus Bookstore. A $9.99/per credit hour fee will be added for each course that has a physical book available. When this fulfillment preference is selected at least one month before a class start date, the JBU Campus Bookstore will guarantee physical rental copies of the course material unless it is an item that is strictly available in digital format.
