Academic Merit-Based Scholarships

Amounts and criteria for the 2019–2020 school year

JBU offers two kinds of academic scholarships: merit-based and competitive. Merit-based academic scholarships are awarded based on your high school GPA and test scores.

Freshman requirements

Trustee's Award: $11,500

Dean's Award: $9,500

Professor's Award: $7,500

Scholar's Award: $5,500


National Merit Award: $14,500


Yearly scholarships awarded: Limited

Qualifying criteria: National Merit Finalist or Semi-Finalist

Renewal requirements: 3.2 cumulative GPA


Trustee's Award: $11,500

Transfer requirements: 3.6 cumulative GPA with 24 transfer hours

Renewal requirements: 3.2 cumulative GPA


Dean's Award: $9,500

Professor's Award: $7,500

Other details

 

  • Acceptance for admissions required. Scholarship based on information received by February 15.
  • Academic awards are based upon ACT / SAT / CLT superscore and GPA.
  • JBU does not evaluate the writing portion of the ACT, SAT or CLT when determining scholarship eligibility.
  • Only one academic scholarship per student.
  • International students are not eligible for merit-based scholarships.
