Academic Competitive Scholarships

Amounts and criteria for the 2020–2021 school year

JBU offers two kinds of academic scholarships: merit-based and competitive. Students with qualifying GPAs and test scores will be formally invited to compete for one of our competitive scholarships at the fall or spring Scholarship Competition.

This year's events take place on November 10–11, 2019 and February 16–17, 2020. Acceptance for admission and scholarship application required by November 5, 2019 for the fall event and by February 11, 2020 for the spring event.

Freshman requirements to compete

Automatic invitations to the Scholarship Competition are extended to students that meet these academic requirements. Students demonstrating great leadership ability may also be personally invited by Admissions Counselors.

Students may only attend one event and may receive only one academic scholarship. Any competitive academic scholarship offered will replace the Trustee's award.

JBU does not evaluate the writing portion of ACT or SAT when determining scholarship eligibility.

**Transfer students are ineligible for competitive scholarships but are eligible to receive merit-based scholarships.

**Only current high school seniors are eligible to compete for competitive scholarships.

**Competitive scholarships may not be combined with the Leadership Scholarship.
