The Arkansas Department of Education's (ADE) is committed to leading the nation in student-focused education. In order to achieve this, they support all levels of their staff to be knowledgeable, productive, and efficient in their role of providing assistance to school in Arkansas. That's why the ADE provides educational opportunities for employees who want to further their education and are encouraged to explore opportunities for learning and growth available to them. Partnership Eligibility and Benefits

Eligible recipients can receive the discounts or scholarships offered below, as well as any other eligible AR scholarships and grants (in accordance with the Arkansas Department of Education's benefit policies and AR scholarship and grant requirements). For specific information regarding tuition assistance and other educational benefits provided by the Arkansas Department of Education, employees will need to contact their human resources department.

For Those Enrolling in the 2019-2020 Academic Year

Full-time Arkansas Department of Education home office employees receive a 10% tuition discount on any of our Online Undergraduate or Graduate programs.

For Those Enrolling in the 2020-2021 Academic Year 

Effective Fall 2020, full-time Arkansas Department of Education home office employees and their immediate household family members--will be eligible to receive a tuition scholarship of up to $2,500 per year for up to 4 years. 

This scholarship will apply to any degree program offered at JBU, including students in traditional on-campus undergraduate, online undergraduate, and graduate programs. 

Note: Scholarships for the Graduate and Online Undergraduate courses cannot exceed more than 10% of total tuition. No benefit, repayment, reprobation, or refund will be made for or to any employee relating to classes that commenced prior to the first full session beginning after the effective date. The benefit is not retroactive to previous terms of enrollment prior to verification of the employee's eligibility. The benefit is not retroactive to previous, current students in the traditional, on-campus undergraduate program.

Next Steps

1. Apply to John Brown University. The recipient will need to complete an application for JBU before he or she is eligible for these benefits.

2. Submit your completed FAFSA (for those applying for Fall 2020). If the applicant meets JBU admissions requirements, the scholarship will be confirmed as a part of their financial aid package. Please note that the FAFSA deadline for traditional, on-campus students planning to enroll in Fall 2020 is December 1, 2019. 

3. Complete an employer verification form. To verify eligibility, the Arkansas Department of Education employee will need to submit a completed Employment Verification Form, which will be sent to you upon submission of your application.
