Ticketing for Commencement

2015 Ceremony

Graduating Seniors (Traditional Undergrad ONLY):

This spring's graduating undergraduate class is the largest in JBU history. In addition, the number of guests per student has increased significantly in the past few years.

Because of these two factors, we anticipate that the number of family/friends coming to celebrate will exceed the seating capacity in the Bill George Arena by as many as 1,000 people.

We want everyone who comes to campus to be able to view the traditional undergraduate commencement ceremony, so both the Berry Performing Arts Center and the Cathedral of the Ozarks will serve as overflow venues with a live simulcast video of graduation.

To make sure every graduating undergraduate student can have guests seated in the Bill George Arena, we are implementing a ticket system. Every graduating undergraduate student can request:

- Up to 7 guest tickets for seating in the Bill George Arena,

- And up to 10 additional guest tickets for overflow seating in the Cathedral of the Ozarks or the Berry Performing Arts Center.

How To Request Your Tickets

  1. Go to www.jbu.edu/gradtickets ASAP. You have to log-in with your JBU account. (Only graduating seniors will have access.)
  2. Select the number of tickets needed for each venue.
  3. Indicate if you want the tickets sent to your JBU box or another address. (If you want us to mail your tickets, your request must be made by 11:59 p.m. on April 23. After that date, tickets will only be sent to your JBU box.
  4. Once you have made your request you will receive a confirmation e-mail and you should receive your tickets in 5-7 days.
  5. All requests for tickets MUST be made by 11:59 p.m. on April 30.

Other Important Information

You will be responsible for distributing tickets to your guests. We recommend you do not wait until the day of graduation to distribute your tickets, as we expect significant campus congestion on graduation day.

The tickets are solely to gain access to each venue and do not reserve specific seats. If you have specific seating needs (i.e. disability services for yourself or your guests), contact Mrs. Jackie Wright (jwright@jbu.edu or 479-524-7400). Otherwise, seating location is on a first-come, first-serve basis for ticket holders.

If you have a need for more than 17 tickets, or have any other questions or concerns about ticketing, please contact Johanna Musgrave, Assistant Director of University Communications at jmusgrave@jbu.edu or 479-524-7358.

Thank you for your patience as we work to accommodate our largest graduating class ever in a way that is fair to all families. We appreciate your help in communicating about the overflow situation with your friends and family who will be attending.
