Art Scholarship

We Offer $150,000 in Art Scholarships Per Year

These scholarships are designated for new first year students who are majoring in Art & Illustration, Digital Cinema, Graphic Design, Photography, or Visual FX. Twenty-five scholarships are awarded each year, and they are renewable for up to four years.

Scholarships will be awarded based on a portfolio review, faculty recommendation, academic standing and personal character. To set up a portfolio review meeting, please contact Jeannie Abbott. In order to be considered for scholarships beginning in fall 2020 or spring 2021, you must submit an application and a copy of your portfolio. Fall submissions will only be accepted between October 29-November 12, 2019 and must include both the application and portfolio. Spring submissions will be accepted between January 28-February 11, 2020 and must include both the application and portfolio. This portfolio should be your best work, in any medium you choose: painting, drawing, design, photography, cinema, etc. Further instructions on applying are given below.

HOW TO APPLY:

ART SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS/PORTFOLIOS MAY ONLY BE SUBMITTED OCTOBER 29-NOVEMBER 12, 2019 AND JANUARY 28-FEBRUARY 11, 2020. Please check back during the application window to apply. Students should apply for admission to JBU before completing the art scholarship application.

Please fill out the Scholarship Application and create a digital portfolio. Please submit your application NO LATER than 5 PM on the date of the deadline so that we may send you a link to upload your digital portfolio NO LATER than midnight. We will try to contact you within 48 hours of receiving your application in order to email you a link to upload your portfolio. Guidelines

This is a digital portfolio; therefore, it must be submitted digitally. If your work was not created digitally, you must photograph or scan it. You may only submit a maximum of 12 images. These images must be in the JPEG format with a maximum file size of 10MB. Video work may be submitted, but you may only submit up to five video files each with a maximum file size of 100 MB. If you have larger work you may upload your work to Vimeo and send us the link. When submitting your portfolio, you must name each file with your first initial followed by a period and your last name and then a sequential number (Example: K.Smith8.jpeg, K.Smith9.jpeg). If you would like, you can attach a separate document that lists the type of media used, size of art, date of completion, and if it is an abstract piece.
