The JBU Arkansas Affordability Promise

100% of tuition covered for qualifying Arkansas students.

JBU is committed to a making Christ-centered education more accessible for students and families. Through the JBU Arkansas Affordability Promise, qualifying Arkansas undergraduate students who first enroll at JBU in fall 2027 and receive the maximum Federal Pell Grant will have 100% of their tuition covered by gift aid. That means eligible students will pay $0 for tuition.

  • Beginning in fall 2027, qualifying Arkansas students can have 100% of tuition covered through gift aid.
  • Eligible students who receive the maximum Federal Pell Grant will pay $0 for tuition.
  • Gift aid may include federal, state, outside and JBU scholarships and grants.
  • Even if you don’t qualify for the maximum Pell Grant, JBU may be more affordable than you expect.

How to qualify

1. Be an Arkansas resident
Students must be Arkansas residents to qualify for the JBU Arkansas Affordability Promise.

2. Submit the FAFSA
Students must submit the FAFSA and qualify for the maximum Federal Pell Grant, which is $7,395 for 2026–27.

3. Apply for Arkansas state aid
Students must apply for Arkansas state aid and receive the Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship or another qualifying Arkansas state scholarship.

4. Review your financial aid offer
After you apply to JBU, submit the FAFSA and complete the required aid steps, JBU will prepare a personalized financial aid offer showing the gift aid available to your family.

Even if you don’t qualify for the maximum Pell Grant, JBU is likely more affordable than you expect. Many students receive significant financial aid, and the best way to know what JBU could cost for your family is to apply, submit the FAFSA and review your personalized financial aid offer.

Eligibility for the JBU Arkansas Affordability Promise is limited to new, traditional undergraduate students enrolling at JBU for the first time in fall 2027.

How to apply to JBU

Students should complete JBU’s application for admission and submit all required materials. After applying, students should submit the FAFSA and complete the Arkansas state aid application process.
