CARES Letter

Dear Students,

The CARES Act passed by the federal government provides emergency assistance to students to cover expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus (including expenses such as food, housing, transportation, course materials, technology, health care, and childcare).

In order to receive funds, you will need to fill out an Emergency Funds Request and provide the appropriate documentation.

Students will be required to sign in using their JBU username and password for security reasons. In order to be eligible for the funds, the student must meet the following criteria (as explained in the form):

  • Be enrolled as a traditional undergraduate student at the Siloam Springs campus or be a graduate student enrolled in face-to-face classes that were transitioned to remote education due to COVID-19.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or national, permanent resident, or other eligible non-citizen
  • Filed a 2019-2020 FAFSA through www.fafsa.gov.
  • Be maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress of a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above as well as passing 2/3 of classes.

Fund requests are due by June 1st. The Business Office would recommend that a student sign up for direct deposit for “Refunds & Reimbursements” if they have not already done so (Eaglenet Self Service > My Essential Services > Banking Information). The students can expect funding within 10-14 days of the request being approved.
