Connor Young has received degrees from both John Brown University and Calvin Theological Seminary. Having feet in both the Office of Christian Formation and College of Music, he enjoys the wide reach of his position on campus. Leading the chapel band program and teaching the fundamentals of Worship Arts are his delight, working with students from all majors and worship backgrounds.

Despite being at JBU in an interim capacity, Connor is glad to return to his alma mater to serve the student population through mentorship and instruction. Connor has a love of words and liturgy, meshing the historical worship practices of the Great Tradition with modern musical sensibilities. He also is deeply committed to ensuring that his students appreciate the artistry of church music, while also maintaining that faithfulness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ does not suffer for it.

In his spare time, Connor loves reading a wide variety of things, from westerns to writings from the desert fathers – nothing is off the table. He also enjoys riding his gravel bike, eating new foods with his wife, and thumbing through records at a local record store.
