JBU Online Organizational Leadership

Transcript

Dr. Stacey Duke:
Industries are looking for leaders. They're not looking to develop leaders, they're looking for leaders that can come in and be a part, and take leadership within the organization, and they know John Brown University has a success of educating students in this area to create well-developed leaders.

Sam Heinrich:
We really encourage students as they're thinking about their degrees to think about who they are becoming in this process take into account this opportunity to become something different.

Dr. Stacey Duke:
The students that we usually see that are looking for organizational leadership are manager level. They've developed their career, they've gotten to a point but they need to take that next step, and so we give them the tools that help them reach the next level of leadership.

Sam Heinrich:
It's not that employers are just looking for that piece of paper. What they're looking for is people that have grown and developed something that's valuable. Goes way beyond that degree.

Dr. Stacey Duke:
I'm passionate about developing those students, because the students are in the work force, they're effecting where we're going now, they're affecting the marketplace, and we teach them how to learn the theory of leadership but then apply it in everything that they do.
