Dr. Margo Turner:
The K-6 Elementary Ed program has some wonderful courses, opportunities, experiences.

Erin Holsteen:
I think one of the coolest things that teachers can do is show love that kids maybe have never felt before.

Dr. Margo Turner:
A large part of the program is actually spent in elementary classrooms here our in Siloam Springs, our little town, but also in the corridor, the cities around us in the districts.

Erin Holsteen:
And so it's very hands on, we're actually teaching the lessons that we plan and building relationships with the students and talking to the teachers.

Dr. Margo Turner:
We realize that it's great to get content, theory, you know, some of the information that we can get from textbooks, websites, etc. To really put it into practice with real kids is where we see our teachers are best developed.

Erin Holsteen:
JBU has prepared me extremely well, just by actually getting into the classrooms.

Dr. Margo Turner:
We see teachers as the people who have the life chances of kids in their hands. Seven hours a day, 180 days a year.

Erin Holsteen:
How cool it is that we can teach reading to students because then they're able to read the Bible.

Dr. Margo Turner:
We want our teachers ready to leave JBU, graduate on May 9th, and in August, day one, be ready to go.
