Patty Kirk:
One of the ways you really learn how to write is not really in the classroom it's from doing it and getting feedback on it. We have short story workshop, poetry workshop. We have creative non-fiction workshop.

Seth Burgett:
You learn how to take critique, which is tough. Maybe you come in with a short story and then you just talk about it. What is it accomplishing? Is it getting across what you're trying to get across? Is it even written well? How can you improve it? That sort of thing.

Patty Kirk:
Very often, the students remain in community and they have like a Facebook page that they share each other's work through or in some way, remain a community as a class, which is really cool.

Seth Burgett:
It's a safe place, and it's a good safe place to develop how you think. They want to make a difference in the world with their writing and so I feel like our program teaches them how to write well as Christians.
