Leaving Iowa

By Tim Clue and Spike Manton

Sept. 28, 29, & Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m., and Oct, 6 at 1 p.m.

A heartwarming combination of nostalgia and humor, tears and laughter, Leaving Iowa is the story of Don Browning, a middle-aged writer, who returns home and decides to finally take his father's ashes to his childhood home, as requested. This father-and-son road trip shifts smoothly from the present to Don's memories of the annual, torturous vacations of his childhood. Leaving Iowa is a postcard to anyone who has ever found himself or herself driving alone on a road, revisiting fond memories of his or her youth.

Sense & SensibilitySense and Sensibility

By Kate Hamill, based on the novel by Jane Austen

Feb. 8, 15 & 16 at 7:30 p.m., and Feb. 9 at 1 p.m.

A playful new adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved novel follows the fortunes (and misfortunes) of the Dashwood sisters—sensible Elinor and hypersensitive Marianne—after their father’s sudden death leaves them financially destitute and socially vulnerable. Set in gossipy late 18th-century England, with a fresh female voice, the play is full of humor, emotional depth, and bold theatricality. Sense and Sensibility examines our reactions, both reasonable and ridiculous, to societal pressures. When reputation is everything, how do you follow your heart?

Hello, Dolly!

Book by Michael Stewart; Music and Lyrics by Jerry Herman; Based on the play “The Matchmaker” by Thornton Wilder

Oct. 25, 26, Nov. 1 & 2 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 28 at 2 p.m.

This blockbuster Broadway hit bursts with humor, romance, high-energy dancing, and some of the greatest songs in musical theatre history. The romantic and comic exploits of Dolly Gallagher-Levi, turn-of-the-century matchmaker and “woman who arranges things,” are sure to delight our audiences!

The FantasticksThe Fantasticks

Book and Lyrics by Tom Jones; Music by Harvey Schmidt

March 7, 8, 9 at 7:30 p.m., and March 9 at 2 p.m.

The Fantasticks is the longest-running musical in the world and with good reason: at the heart of its breathtaking poetry and subtle theatrical sophistication is a purity and simplicity that transcends cultural barriers. The result is a timeless fable of love that manages to be nostalgic and universal at the same time.

How to Purchase Tickets

Online: Online ticket purchases for individual or season packages may be made here.

By Phone: Call the Box Office at (479) 524-7382. We will reserve the next best available seats in your name, and you may pay and pick them up at the box office one hour prior to the performance. Purchase tickets by cash, check, or credit card via this option. Seats are guaranteed until 15 minutes prior to the designated event's scheduled start, at which time JBU reserves the right to release any unclaimed seats for re-sale. Ticket-holding patrons should be seated at 15 minutes before event start time.

At the Door: Tickets may be purchased at the box office immediately prior to the performance via cash, check, or credit card. We do not recommend this option because many performances are well-attended and we cannot guarantee seating.
