Weekend Highlights from Family Weekend 2017

Student Theater Presentation:  Is He Dead?  A new comedy by Mark Twain, as adapted by David Ives
Friday, 7:30 p.m. & Saturday, 1:00 p.m.

It’s Paris, 1846. Talented French artist, Jean-Francois Millet, feels honor bound to save his fiancé and her father from financial ruin, but his paintings are not selling. Millet soon realizes that great paintings make much more money after the artist dies. In desperation, he fakes his own death and becomes... his own sister. Now a rich "widow," he must find a way to get out of a dress, return to life, and marry Marie.  Only the brilliant Mark Twain could conceive of such a riotous plot!

Stick around after the Friday evening show to meet the cast and enjoy light refreshments!

Adults $16; Senior adults/alumni/faculty/staff $14; JBU students $3; Other students $7

For those of you who are new to Family Weekend, we offer two identical Talent and Variety Show performances on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. or 8:30 p.m. A different panel of students and parents will judge each show and all the points are totaled to determine the winners, which will be announced simultaneously at the end of the second show in both the Cathedral and the Walker Student Center Atrium (via live fee).

Tickets are $2 per person. ALL tickets must be purchased by your student the week prior to the Show. They will not be available for purchase through the mail or ordered over the phone.

Be a Judge!
Each show requires eight judges--four parents and four students. Parent judges are chosen through a random selection the week before Family Weekend. If chosen, you will receive all judging information in your packet at the registration table. Free admission and reserved seating is provided for judges, their spouse, and student(s). Visit registration page to volunteer.
