Any current JBU student, faculty or staff member can rent equipment from the OAC - no membership is necessary.  Equipment may also be rented for spouses and dependents.

    • Backpacking Bags
    • Compasses
    • Tents - 2, 3 or 4 person (ground tarps included)
    • Sleeping Bags (20 degree)
    • Sleeping Pads
    • Cook Kits (2 pots, lids, 1 fry pan and pot gripper)
    • Cups
    • Stoves - Primus (propane); Whisper Lite (liquid fuel); Two-Burner Camp Stove (propane) **Fuel not included with rentals.
    • Kayaks (9' or 10' (paddles and life jackets included)
    • Spray Skirts for Kayak
    • Whitewater Helmets
    • Canoes (paddles, life jackets and throw bags included)
    • Stand Up Paddle Boards (paddles and life jackets included)
    • Wet Suits
    • Water Filter - Platypus (gravity); Liberty (pump)

Request Details

To rent equipment, fill out the Equipment Request form to the right. Once your request is received, you will receive an email confirming your equipment is available and when you may pick it up.

You will be required to sign a rental agreement at the time you pick up your equipment.  The JBU ID holder must be present when picking up equipment.

To insure that the equipment you want to use is available, please fill out the online reservation form as far in advance as you can.  The equipment is rented on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

Equipment is available for pick up and return from 3:00pm - 5:00pm Monday - Friday afternoons. 

Renters are responsible to return the equipment clean and in good working order. Damaging or losing gear will result in additional charges to the renter.
