JBU Fall Classes Begin Next Week

More than 1,000 students will be enrolled in graduate and degree completion courses next week when John Brown University begins its fall semester. JBU's Graduate School has its largest enrollment to date, with over 650 students enrolled in Fort Smith, Little Rock, Rogers, Siloam Springs and online. Enrollment in Graduate Counseling courses surpassed 300 students this fall, marking the highest-ever enrollment for the department, and earlier this year, Arkansas Business named JBU's MBA program the largest in the state. Angelique O'Bryan spends her days as the Director, HR & Operations for Collective Bias, a leading shopper social media company based in Rogers, Arkansas. Having over 12 years HR and operations experience working with start-ups and smaller businesses, she is passionate about growing healthy organizations so that their employees can be happy as well as productive. To support her continued professional growth in the field of Human Resources, she holds both the SHRM-SCP and SPHR certifications. O'Bryan is also the co-owner of two local businesses. Timber Valley Homes which specializes in new residential construction in Rogers and Bentonville, Arkansas, and Iconoclast Custom Wine Cellars which offers a wide variety of wine storage options to the residents of northwest Arkansas. Her passions away from work include serving as a board member for the Northwest Arkansas Women's Shelter and supporting the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) on a local level through the Northwest Arkansas Human Resources Association (NOARK). More than anything else in life, O'Bryan enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons. O'Bryan recently earned her Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management through JBU's Degree Completion Program and is now pursuing her MBA at JBU. Read More

JBU to Offer New Bachelor’s Degree Completion Program in Management Accounting

JBU’s Degree Completion Program recently added a Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting to its degree offerings. Enrollment for the Management Accounting program – which is offered 100% online – will begin this summer. Management accounting is gaining popularity throughout the country as corporate leaders desire a more extensive knowledge of accounting than a traditional business bachelor’s degree (which usually includes nine hours of accounting coursework) provides. In comparison to tax and financial accounting positions, management accounting often plays more of a predictive than a historical role in enterprise financial management, with management accountants frequently involved in strategic planning and forecasting.
