Just the Way You Are

EducationA couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to visit one of our classes in the Education Degree Completion (EDC) program, Exceptional Student for Early Childhood Education. The NW9 EDC cohort is taking that course as they begin the fourth term in the program, to discover the types of exceptionalities in students.

During the class activity, the instructor, Mrs. Brian Hyde, had each student draw a name of a fellow student and write something exceptional about that person. It couldn't be a physical trait, but rather something impressive about each student's character. Several students referenced their fellow classmates' passion for education or their strong faith.

While this exercise certainly has application in the early childhood education classroom, it also says a lot about the God we worship. We are "fearfully and wonderfully" made in His image, and He loves us just the way we are.

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." ~Psalm 139:14
