Mary Distefano

Meet Mary

Mary attended the University of Kansas and graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Special Education in 2019. She has recently moved to NW Arkansas and has enjoyed creating a home there. Mary enjoys communicating and connecting with students, and is interested in pursuing a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She recognizes the challenges of continuing one's education, and looks forward to helping students find the best fit for their future.

In her free time Mary loves reading, hiking, and spending time with her three sisters Rachel, Sarah, and Anna. She also enjoys any day on the lake and exploring different local coffee shops around NW Arkansas!​


Jacob Bentley

Meet Jacob

Jacob graduated from Central Baptist College in Conway, AR in 2018. He loves taking the love for biblical application and putting that into the future career decisions of future students. Jacob has a passion for Christian Higher Education and Classical Education and could not have been more excited to join the JBU admissions team! He knows the struggle of being a non-traditional student while pursuing a Masters in Christian and Classical Studies and working full time to support his family.

Jacob and his wife, Melissa, live in Farmington and enjoys sports, reading, teaching, and video-gaming.

Vergi Scott

Meet Vergi

Vergi is a graduate of Texas Tech University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in advertising.  She enjoys helping students succeed in their higher education journey by connecting student'strengths and talents to the program that best fits their education goals. Having relocated to NWA to pursue a new career path, Vergi can relate to students who are making a pivotal decision that will impact their life and career.  She is excited to be part of the JBU admissions team.

In her free time, Vergi loves reading and creative writing. She finds joy in encouraging others in their daily Christian walk.​

Meet Peyton

Peyton graduated from John Brown University with a degree in Family and Human Services in 2018. She has called Northwest Arkansas home since graduating. Peyton has spent the last few years working in the social work field and enjoys connecting with and assisting individuals from all walks of life. Peyton is passionate about serving others, helping them recognize their strengths, and assisting in the admissions process here at JBU.

In her free time, Peyton enjoys spending time with her family and friends and walking her dog, Piper. Peyton loves the outdoors and all that NWA has to offer!
