Siloam Springs, Ark (August 27, 2003) - John Brown University is pleased to announce the appointment of Alan Murry as the director of enrollment marketing for adult and graduate studies. Having served in administrative roles in the admissions departments at institutions of higher education for nearly 15 years, Murry brings a wealth of experience in marketing, advertising, recruiting and management. “Alan’s background fits our needs exactly,” Dr. Richard Ellis, dean of adult and continuing education said. “His appointment will help us increase public awareness to JBU’s degree programs for adults” Murry received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in 1985. He began his career in higher education at Pittsburg State University. He then returned to his alma mater where he served as the College Relations Representative. Most recently Murry served at the University of South Florida where he was the director of client services and student communications. He has also served at St. Gregory’s University, Oral Roberts University and at the University of Arkansas. “I am excited and pleased to join the JBU family,” states Murry. “I look forward to bringing my years of experience in higher education to bear at one of the best Christ-centered universities in the nation.” The Advance Program at JBU is a degree-completion program for working adults who have completed 60 hours of college credit and have two or more years of work experience. The program’s evening classes lead to a bachelor’s degree in either organizational management or business information systems. Classes are offered in Springdale, Harrison, Fort Smith, Little Rock, Hot Springs, and El Dorado. JBU’s Graduate Studies Program offers several master’s degrees including: Master of Science in Leadership and Ethics, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Counseling, and Master of Arts in Ministry. Graduate classes are held in Springdale, Fort Smith and at the main campus in Siloam Springs.
