SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. -- Eight players finished in double-figure scoring, and the John Brown University women's basketball team set a trio of program records in a 124-51 victory over Crowley's Ridge (Ark.) on Monday (Dec. 5) evening inside Bill George Arena.

The Golden Eagles (8-4) won its second straight as redshirt freshman Jordan Martin came off the bench and scored a career-high and game-best 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the field. She also grabbed a game-best 9 boards. Sophomore Baily Cameron hit 8-of-11 from the floor to notch 18 points and four assists while junior Rosa Orpo added 14 points, hitting a perfect 4-of-4 from behind the arc.

Senior Kodee Powell and sophomore Preslea Reece each added 13 points while Powell dished out a career-high 10 assists. Sophomore Jana Schammel scored 12 while junior Luize Skrastina and freshman Sara Williams each posted 11 points in the win.

"Between Saturday and today, we look like a good team," head coach Jeff Soderquist admitted after the record-shattering win. "If we shoot like this, it makes it hard for other teams. Right now we're the best three-point shooting team in the nation, so when we shoot this well, we're hard to guard.

"Thankfully, because of how well we shoot the three, we're always in it. We're always a threat. Everybody on the floor for us can shoot the three. Last year, one of our issues was depth. Now, we're a lot deeper at every position."

JBU set team records in points scored (124), field goals made (48) and assists (39). The broken point total had previously stood for 33 years since the Golden Eagles racked up 113 in a win over Harding (Ark.) in the 1983-84 season.

The offensive onslaught didn't stop there, however, as the hosts set season highs in field goals attempted (76), triples attempted (36) and tied a season-best three blocked shots.

Converting on 18-of-31 triples (58.1 percent), the hosts ran away with a 63.2 percent shooting mark (48-of-76), including an impressive 77.8 percent mark in the second quarter alone, dropping 38 points on 14-of-18 shooting from the floor.

Crowley's Ridge (3-9) was led by 14 points from Elly Burrell and 12 from Hannah Williard. The Pioneers have now lost six of its last seven.

JBU returns to the hardwood on Thursday (Dec. 8) for its final game of the semester. The Golden Eagles welcome Ecclesia (Ark.) to Bill George Arena for the second time this season for a 6 p.m. tip.
