Coney leads John Brown to third place at Ozarks
CLARKSVILLE, Ark. -- Sophomore Carly Coney posted a time of 20:30, and the John Brown University women's cross country team finished in third at the University of the Ozarks (Ark.) Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 8) morning.
Harding (Ark.) won the team title behind the top three finishers, including individual medalist Amber Webb.
Coney captured 12th place in a time of 20:30 while senior Abbie Melby nabbed 20th after crossing the finish line at 21:02, a season-best mark.
Sophomore Reagan Roth nabbed 22nd place, just six seconds behind Melby, and junior Annie Brown clocked in at 21:19 to finish in 29th place. Sophomore Haley Newcomb's time of 22:02 marked a personal best for her this season, earning her 44th place in the field of 82 runners.
The Golden Eagles will now embark for Wilmington, Ohio to run the #JennaStrong Fall Classic on Friday (Oct. 14).
