Holden, Cusick headline All-Tournament team
SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. -- Three John Brown University women's tennis players were selected to the RRAC/SAC Unaffiliated Group Regional All-Tournament team, headlined by juniors Clare Holden and Grace Cusick, tournament officials announced Monday (May 1) morning.
Holden, from Brighton, Mich., completed a 1-1 mark at No. 4 singles action over the weekend while compiling a 2-1 No. 3 doubles record, which included one forfeit victory, and was named to the All-Tournament first team. She finished second in voting only to LSU-Shreveport's Hannah Almjstorovic.
Joining Holden on the first team was Wichita, Kan. native Cusick, who featured a perfect 3-0 mark at No. 5 singles and a 2-1 mark with her partner, junior Caitlin King, at No. 2 doubles.
King, hailing from Topeka, Kan., was named to the second team for her efforts.
The Golden Eagles finished the 2016-17 season with a 5-9 overall record and a third place finish at the tournament.
