Pianist Dr. Clara Christian to Perform at JBU
SILOAM SPRINGS, Arkansas (March 1, 2018) – John Brown University welcomes Dr. Clara Christian, assistant professor of music and coordinator of the piano program at College of the Ozarks, to perform on Tuesday, March 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Berry Performing Arts Center. Christian will perform various selections of Franz Liszt’s Première année: Suisse, W. A. Mozart’s Sonata in F Major, Sergei Rachmaninoff ‘s Variations on a Theme of Corelli and William Bolcom’s Dance Portraits.
Christian received her master’s degree in music from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University and her doctorate in piano performance and pedagogy from Northwestern University. Christian has given solo recitals throughout North America and Russia, and has performed internationally as a collaborative artist, working with many renowned artists. As a pianist for “Fuse Trio,” Christian performed with saxophonist Matthew Sintchak and clarinetist David Gould, even premiering at the 2015 World SaxOpen Congress and Festival in Strasbourg, France.
