Men prepped to extend win streak

Siloam Springs, Arkansas (February 16, 2012) - The 13th ranked Golden Eagles will try to continue their winning streak against Mid-American Christian on Thursday night at 8 p.m. on the road before coming back to the Bill George Arena to face Oklahoma City University on Saturday night at 5 p.m.

ABOUT THE GOLDEN EAGLES:  The Eagles are currently second in the Sooner Athletic Conference with a season record of 21-5, 13-5 in conference.  They are coming off of two big wins against Oklahoma Christian and Northwestern State last weekend.

Senior forward Adrian Miller is currently JBU’s leading scorer with 15.35 ppg followed by senior forward Andy Garcia with 11.63 ppg. Garcia is leading the Eagles in rebounds with 7.63 rpg followed by Miller with 6.23 rpg.  Junior guard EJ McWoods currently leads the NAIA in free-throw percentage with 89.9 percent accuracy.  The team as a whole averages 77.89 ppg while holding their opponents to 65.04 ppg.  JBU is currently first in the division in total defensive rebounds with 27.769 and in 3-point percentage with 42.2 percent.

ABOUT THE MACU EVANGELS: MACU sits at the 10th seed in the SAC with a record of 12-11, 7-11 in conference. Charlie Shorter is leading MACU and the rest of the conference in scoring with an average of 21.8 points per game.  Shorter was also last week’s SAC Player of the Week.  Brandon Williams is the team’s second leading scorer with 12.4. MACU’s leading rebounder is George Haynes with 7.0 per game followed by Bake Larson with 5.12.

ABOUT THE OCU STARS: OCU is eighth in the SAC and has a season record of 11-11, 8-10 in conference.  Orlan Jackson is OCU’s top player, leading the Stars with 13.2 points per game and 8.4 rebounds.  Their second leading rebounder is Tim Morton with 6.2 per game and their second leading scorer is Carlton Jones with 12.2 points per game. The Stars average 68.8 points a game as a team while holding their opponents to 64.8.
