Men's soccer loses in conference tourney

Siloam Springs, Ark. (November 4, 2011) - The JBU men’s soccer team’s season came to an end on Friday afternoon after losing 2-0 to Rogers State (Okla.) during opening round action of the 2011 SAC Tournament.
The Golden Eagles gave up both goals early in the first half. The first came at the 13:20 mark when Henrique Sousa scored off a penalty kick after a JBU foul in the box.
Less than nine minutes later, RSU’s Griffin Kane had a shot blocked by a JBU defender, but teammate Justin Friesen was there to clean it up and boot it in for the goal.
RSU (11-7-1) remained ahead at the half.
In the second half, JBU came out energized but couldn’t connect on any attempts as the RSU defense continued to put up a strong front.
For the game, RSU outshot JBU 14-8 with a 6-3 shots on goal advantage. Pablo Garcia had four saves for JBU, while Jeremy Swift had three for RSU.
The JBU men close out the year at 8-9-2 overall.
