John Brown University’s women’s soccer team beat Oklahoma Baptist University 1-0 on the road Wednesday afternoon raising their record to 6-8-1 and 4-5 in the SAC.

Even though the women’s team lost their past two games, their spirits were not dampened as they were able to grab a win to prevent a three-game loosing streak.

JBU’s freshman forward Laura Garcia, assisted by freshman forward Danielle Avis, scored in the 30th minute giving JBU the 1-0 lead.

After battling through the rest of the game, neither team was able to find the back of the net.

JBU out shot OBU 18-17 and 8-5 on goal. Faith Thurman kept OBU off the scoreboard with the five saves she was able to pick up.

The Lady Eagles will come home for their last two games of the season, first against Saint Gregory’s on Saturday, October 29, and second on Tuesday, November 1 against Rogers State. Both games kick-off at 1:00 p.m.
