Siloam Springs, Ark. (September 24, 2011) - The JBU men’s soccer team cruised by Sterling (Kan.) on Saturday afternoon en route to a 6-1 win to move to 3-5 on the year.

JBU put the first goal on the board, when senior Joel Thomas’ deep cross from midfield found junior Hunter Bradford, who finished with a diving header for the 1-0 lead.

Bradford struck again less than two minutes later when freshman Martin Gonzalez found him slashing through the box for the 2-0 cushion.

In the 32nd minute, freshman Daniel Forry added to the margin when he broke free at midfield before facing a one-on-one matchup with Sterling keeper Jordan Cabrera.   Forry blasted a left footed shot past Cabrera for JBU’s third goal of the match.

Sterling managed to get on the board in the 37th minute when Abe White connected with Johnny Chavez before the intermission.

In the second half, JBU put things out of reach when junior Misha Kolemasov scored off a header at the 71:44 mark.  Forry and senior Josh Baldwin put on the finishing touches with goals in the 75th and 84th minute respectively.

For the match, JBU out shot Sterling 29-13 with an 8-4 shots-on-goal advantage.  Freshman Matt Henry picked up three saves in the win.
