After a long battle, the JBU men’s soccer team beat Harding (Ark.) 1-0 at Alumni Field Tuesday afternoon bringing their record to 2-5 overall.

Both teams had many opportunities to score throughout the entire match.  However, JBU was able to convert late to take the win.

In the last three minutes of the game, Harding (3-4-1) fouled JBU, and the teams set up for a direct kick. Hunter Bradford, a junior forward from Friendswood, Texas, crossed the ball towards the goal box connecting with sophomore midfielder Luke Theimer, who directed the ball into the back of the net off the header.

The Eagles were able to play a defensive game of keep-away for the remainder of the match to prevent Harding scoring the equalizer.

The Eagles’ next game will be at home on Saturday, September 24 at 3:00 p.m. against Sterling (Kan.).
