Grammy-Award Winning Switchfoot and Anberlin to Perform at JBU

Switchfoot and Anberlin Coming in Concert Oct. 14

Siloam Springs, Arkansas (July 25, 2011) - Grammy-award winning artist Switchfoot and Universal Republic recording artist Anberlin will be in concert on campus Friday, Oct. 14, in John Brown University’s Bill George Arena.  The concert is being sponsored by JBU’s Student Activities (BLUE Entertainment).

“We are thrilled about bringing this tour to JBU’s campus for our students and the community,” said Danielle Keller, coordinator of student activities. “This concert offers an opportunity for JBU Student Activities to provide excellent entertainment while hosting nationally known bands, Switchfoot and Anberlin. We hope this concert will be a memorable event for our students and the NWA community.”

Switchfoot is a 2011 Grammy-award winner for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album. Their current album “Hello Hurricane” debuted at number 6 on the Billboard Top 200 charts and at number 2 on the Billboard Top Christian Album Charts. They will release their eighth studio album “Vice Verses” on Sept. 27. Anberlin’s newest album “Dark is the Way, Light is the Place” debuted at #9 on the Billboard Top 200 charts.

“One of BLUE’s main goals has been to take the concert scene at JBU to the next level,” said student director Matthias Roberts. “This concert allows us to do that.”

Tickets will go on sale July 29, at Advance general admission will be $25. JBU student tickets will go on sale Aug. 24, for $18. Current 2011-2012 JBU students only (does not include con-current high school or graduate students)
