Siloam Springs, Ark (January 20, 1998) - The Student Government Association (SGA) of John Brown University elected five executive officers for the 1998-99 school year. Candidates presented speeches in chapel on Feb. 10. Students voted in post-chapel divisional elections.

The officers for the 98-99 SGA are as follows:

* President: Rob Bethke * Vice President: Americo Melara * Administrative Officer: Kunta Evans * Activities Director: Stacey Hilyard * Public Relations Director: Whitney Lehenbauer

Rob Bethke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bethke of Lucas, Tex., is a junior majoring in church ministries. Bethke was elected for his second year as SGA president.

Americo Melara, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jose Melara of El Salvador, Central America, is a senior majoring in electrical engineering.

Kunta Evans, son of Ms. Carolyn Green of Houston, Tex., is a junior majoring in business administration. Evans was elected for his second year as SGA administrative officer.

Stacey Hilyard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hilyard of Katy, Tex., is a sophomore majoring in accounting.

Whitney Lehenbauer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Lehenbauer of Bentonville, Ark., is a junior majoring in psychology.
