Siloam Springs, Ark. (November 30, 2010) - The 24th ranked Golden Eagles return to SAC action this week with No. 18 Oklahoma Christian coming into Bill George Arena for a Thursday night tilt scheduled for 8 p.m. The team then travels to Alva, Okla. to take on the Rangers of Northwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday at 8 p.m.

ABOUT THE GOLDEN EAGLES: JBU enters this week’s contests at 9-0 overall and 1-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference after picking up a 68-62 come from behind victory against Rogers State (Okla.) in conference action before the Thanksgiving break.

Sophomore Coleson Rakestraw, a 6-3 guard from Siloam Springs, leads JBU in scoring with 14 ppg, followed by junior Adrian Miller, a 6-4 forward from Hernando, Miss., with 11.7 ppg. Junior college transfer Andy Garcia, a 6-7 forward from Bronx, N.Y., is the team’s leading rebounder collecting 8.0 rpg, and he’s followed by Miller with 7.44 rpg. As a team, JBU is averaging 74.67 ppg and ranks second nationally in total rebound margin (16.9) and fifth in scoring defense while holding opponents to 59 ppg.

Last season, JBU went 1-2 against Oklahoma Christian losing both regular season matches. JBU, however, knocked off OC during the first round of the SAC tournament en route to claiming the tournament title.

The Golden Eagles finished 1-1 against the Rangers last season, falling to them 79-90 on the road in early January before closing out the regular season with a 75-50 victory at home in their final game in Murray Sells.

ABOUT THE OC EAGLES: OC is coming off a tough home loss to Northwestern Okla. State last week despite a huge 27 point, eight rebound performance from 6-10 sophomore center Will Reinke of Lawton, Oklahoma. The Eagles currently stand at 4-2 overall and 0-1 in the SAC. With a 19.33 ppg average, Reinke is the go to guy for the Eagles. As a team, OC is averaging 81.0 ppg while giving up 70.3 ppg to their opponents.

ABOUT THE NWOSU RANGERS: The Rangers stand at 6-1 overall and 1-0 in the SAC after a 2-1 week last week, which included knocking off 18th ranked Oklahoma Christian and going 1-1 at the Columbia College (Mo.) Quality Inn Classic over Thanksgiving weekend. With a fairly young squad, the Rangers are led by Orren Tims, a 6-5 senior forward from Ruston, Louisiana. Tims is averaging 18.7 ppg on a team which puts up 75.3 points a night so far this season.
