KLRC Listeners ‘Pay it Forward’

Siloam Springs, Ark. (December 8, 2010) - Listeners of local radio station 101.1 FM KLRC, with the help of Arvest Bank, are setting out to “pay it forward” by performing random acts of kindness.

Beginning Nov. 1, KLRC started asking listeners to go to KLRC.com and let them know how they would “Pay it Forward” if they were given $101. Thanks to Arvest Bank, three listeners every week will be selected from the submissions and given a check for $101 to use for their “Pay it Forward” plan. The “Pay it Forward” plans chosen to be carried out will be announced during the “KLRC Morning Show” on Fridays during the month of November. Highlights will also be featured on www.KLRC.com.

“What I love the most about ‘Pay it Forward’ is how one small act can start a chain reaction,” said Keri Lynn, KLRC morning show host and promotions director. “For example, Jennifer was awarded the first $101 for the month to buy warm coats for a local shelter. Friends, community leaders and local businesses heard about her idea and have all joined with her to buy even more coats. It’s amazing how one act of kindness, paid forward, can affect the whole community!”

The popular Drive-Thru Difference day will return on Thursday, Nov. 11. Listeners are invited to join hundreds of others in Northwest Arkansas who will make a positive difference by simply paying for the car behind them in the drive-thru line.

KLRC and Arvest are also teaming up with 7Hills Shelter and the Salvation Army Shelter to help provide cold weather wear for the community. Listeners will be able to stop by select NWA Arvest locations and drop off warm hats, gloves, and socks to be given to families in need on Nov. 19.

This is the third year that 101.1 KLRC and Arvest Bank have joined forces to spread goodwill throughout Northwest Arkansas by encouraging people to “Pay It Forward” through random acts of kindness.
