Volleyball loses nail biter to Stars

Oklahoma City (October 19, 2010) - The JBU women’s volleyball team took Oklahoma City to the distance on Tuesday night in Abe Lemons Arena but couldn’t manage to upstage the Stars on their home turf and fell 2-3 (15-25, 25-23, 21-25, 25-22, 12-15). The loss drops the Eagles to 16-11 overall and 4-5 in the SAC.

Sophomore Erin Didier paced JBU with 15 kills followed by senior Amber Wilson and junior Allie Rankin both with 10. Senior Alyssa Hanson tallied 47 assists to go along with two service aces.

Defensively, junior Sarah Jordan and freshman Staci Williamson had 30 and 20 digs respectively. Williamson also had four blocks while Rankin gathered six.

Xiaoting Ma led OCU (16-9, 6-3) with 28 kills.

Up next, the ladies return home to face Southern Nazarene (Okla.) on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Bill George Arena.
