Soccer wraps up exhibition play against UCA

Siloam Springs, Ark. (August 24, 2010) - The JBU men’s soccer team completed their preseason exhibition games on Monday after falling to Central Arkansas 3-1 at Bill Stephens Track/Soccer Complex in Conway.

UCA scored twice in the first period before JBU cut the score in half in the 63rd minute off a Sasha Viatrov goal. However, the Bears put it away after scoring their third in the final minute of play.

On Saturday, JBU fell 2-1 to NCAA Division II opponent Drury after going ahead 1-0 off a Ramon Martinez breakaway goal early on. Drury regrouped and managed to take the lead after scoring two before intermission. Both teams were scoreless in the second period.

The men begin regular season play on the road against Columbia (Mo.) on Saturday, August 28 at 7 p.m.

The first home match will take place on Saturday, Sept. 4 against Northwood (Texas) at 1 p.m.
