Siloam Springs, Ark. (April 21, 2010) - Erin McIlroy, a 5-10 middle/right side hitter from South Garland High School in Texas, has signed a national letter of intent to play volleyball for JBU in the fall.

“Coach [Stacie] Johnson and I are very excited that Erin decided that JBU was the place for her,” said JBU Director of Athletics Robyn Daugherty. “She is very athletic and fundamentally sound, and her club experience really has helped her develop into a top recruit.”

McIlroy was a First-Team All-District selection in both her junior and senior years at South Garland. She was voted team MVP and Most Athletic her senior year, and was also named one of the top four blockers in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex as a junior.

McIlroy, who also plays club volleyball for Texas Assault, helped her team qualify for this summer’s nationals by winning the Lone Star Classic National Qualifier.

She is also in the top ten percentile of her high school class and plans to major in history secondary education.
