JBU claims top post season basketball honors

Siloam Springs, Ark. (March 29, 2010) - Members of both men’s and women’s JBU basketball teams earned post season honors for their work during the 2009-2010 men’s and women’s basketball seasons.

The JBU men's basketball team received the Dr. James Naismith Team Sportsmanship Award, which was given to the NAIA Division I team that best exemplified sportsmanship during the national tournament, and head coach Clark Sheehy received the Charles A. Kriegel Award, given to the coach of the team that wins the sportsmanship award. The men’s team advanced to the quarterfinal round before being eliminated by Southern Polytechnic State (Ga.) 71-66.

Individually, senior Davaughn Jackson of Nassau, Bahamas and junior Ashley Taylor of Bergman, Ark. were named Honorable Mention All-Americans, while senior Amber Vogts of Newton, Kan. was named an NAIA Scholar Athlete.
