Siloam Springs, Ark (February 26, 2003) - The Graduate Studies Division of John Brown University is pleased to announce that Dr. Timothy W. Kidd has been appointed the Program Director for the Master of Arts in Ministry (MA Min.) degree program. Dr. Kidd is presently the Director of Experiential Learning at the Soderquist Center for Leadership and Ethics, where he has been serving since the fall of 2000. He will assume his new role beginning July 1, 2003. The MA Min. degree is designed to equip individuals for church and para-church ministries with a focus of the spiritual formation of others.

Dr. Doyle Butts, Dean of Graduate Studies, expressed his optimism about the future of the program under Dr. Kidd's leadership. "Dr. Kidd brings to the program a wealth of experience and educational background. We are fortunate to find someone who is so well qualified among our own ranks. He comes to us with a knowledge of the area as well as a familiarity with JBU that will allow him to immediately serve effectively in this new role."

Since the program's inception in August of 2001, Dr. Dan Lambert has served as Program Director on an interim basis. Dr. Lambert will return to full-time undergraduate responsibilities in the next academic year. Dr. Butts expressed his appreciation to Lambert for his leadership in the establishment and development of this new program. "Dan has been a tremendous resource, having experience in graduate studies and a passion for the type of ministry targeted by the MA Min. program. He has given an incredible amount of time and energy to make the MA Min. degree a quality program, and we are excited about contribution that Dr. Kidd will make to the program as he builds on the foundation laid by Dr. Lambert and others in the Biblical Studies Division."

John Brown University is a private university with an enrollment of more than 1,700 students from 42 states and 45 countries. JBU is a member of Arkansas’ Independent Colleges and Universities and the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities.
