Three JBU Teams Make NAIA Scholar Team List

Siloam Springs, Ark. (August 3, 2009) - The National Association for Intercollegiate Athletics has announced that the JBU men’s and women’s tennis teams and volleyball team have all earned the NAIA’s Scholar Team award for their work in the classroom last school year. For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar Team award, they must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average must include all varsity athletes certified as eligible.
Women’s tennis led the three with a grade point average of 3.72, followed by men’s tennis and volleyball with 3.36 and 3.17 respectively.
Of the record total of 837 teams that received the award nationwide, JBU’s women’s tennis ranked 14th overall.
