Pollard Selected to Serve on CCCU Board of Directors

Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 10, 2009) - John Brown University President Dr. Charles Pollard has been selected to serve on the board of directors for the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU). The appointment was made during the 33rd Annual Presidents Conference, held in Washington, D.C., January 29-31. Pollard is one of four newly selected board members and will serve a four-year term on the CCCU board of directors. “We’re honored to see that Dr. Pollard’s leadership and keen perspective on Christian higher education has been recognized in this way,” Andrea Phillips, director of university communications, said. “His appointment is one more confirmation that JBU is respected by CCCU members and leaders as a quality university headed in a positive direction.” Many JBU faculty and staff have served or are serving in leadership positions in organizations that guide and shape the arena of Christian higher education. Just among the JBU president’s cabinet, for example Jim Krall, VP of University Advancement, serves on the CCCU Chief Institutional Advancement Officers Commission; Don Crandall, VP of Enrollment, has served as president of the North American Coalition for Christian Admissions Professionals and is on the CCCU Council for Chief Enrollment Officers; Pat Gustavson, VP of Finance and Administration, is currently serving as President of the Association of Business Administrators of Christian Colleges and has served on the CCCU Chief Financial Officers Commission; Ed Ericson, VP of Academic Affairs, serves as Vice Chairman on the CCCU Faith, Learning and Living Commission; and Steve Beers, VP of Student Development, has served as VP on the Association for Christians in Student Development and is currently a candidate for the presidency of that organization. The CCCU is a higher education association of 181 intentionally Christ-centered institutions around the world. The Council’s mission is to advance the cause of Christ-centered higher education and to help its institutions transform lives by faithfully relating scholarship and service to biblical truth.
