JBU's Northwest Center Moves to Rogers

Siloam Springs, Ark. (May 4, 2007) - John Brown University’s Division of Graduate and Professional Studies is excited to announce that its Northwest Center is relocating late this summer to The Peaks in Rogers, Ark. The new location is south of the Pinnacle Hills Promenade Mall, and offers students easy access to I-540.

“The new location was selected and designed to accommodate the continuing growth of the Graduate and Professional Studies programs,” Dr. Richard Ellis, Dean of Graduate and Professional Studies, said. “Two-thirds of our graduate and professional studies students live in northern Benton County and southwest McDonald County. The Peaks was a logical, central location to accommodate our students.”

JBU’s Northwest Center currently has five-classrooms and office space in Springdale at N. 40 Street and Willowood Ave. The center has been located in Springdale since 1999 serving students in JBU’s Advance and Graduate degree programs.

The new facility has 15,350 square-feet, nearly double of the current location. The increased size provides space for ten classrooms with two classrooms devoted to JBU’s Education Degree Completion (EDC) program. The EDC rooms are modeled after elementary classrooms complete with bulletin boards, a sink, cubby storage spaces, and college-style desks. The remaining eight classrooms are corporate-style seminar rooms fully equipped with the latest educational technology. The facility also has office spaces, testing rooms, a study area, a large common area with computers, wireless Internet throughout the building, and a special room with a two-way mirror for counseling students to observe counseling sessions.

The center’s move is slated to take place in late summer. No specific date has been set.
