Local Standout Signs with Women's Basketball

Siloam Springs, Ark. (April 11, 2007) - Staffica Bain, a 6-0 forward from Fayetteville Christian High School, has signed a national letter of intent to play women’s basketball for John Brown University next fall.

Bain, who is originally from Nassau, Bahamas, averaged 13 points and seven rebounds during her senior season. After playing in only one season with Fayetteville Christian, she earned First Team All-Conference, All-District, and All-Region honors.

Head coach Jeff Soderquist is excited to have Bain join the women’s basketball program.

“Staffica is a great athlete, and we are happy to have her join our team,” said Soderquist. “She has a tremendous upside, and I think the best part of her career is ahead of her.”

Bain is the first Lady Golden Eagle to come from the Bahamas. She plans to major in business administration.
