Stars Outshine Lady Golden Eagles

Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 23, 2007) - In their final regular season road game of the season, the John Brown University women’s basketball team fell 66-49 to No. 20 Oklahoma City on Thursday night. Alexandra Kotta led Oklahoma City (22-6, 11-6) with 17 points and six steals while JBU was paced by Ashley Wettengel with 14 points and five rebounds.

John Brown (7-21, 4-13) struggled taking care of the ball by committing 33 turnovers to only 16 by OCU. Oklahoma City also won the rebounding battle 41-31, 21 coming on the offensive end.

John Brown, however, did manage to outshoot the Stars 41% (15-37) to 36% (24-67).

JBU will return home to host St. Gregory’s (Okla.) in their last regular season game of the year on Saturday at 1 p.m. We will be saying goodbye to seniors Ashley Wettengel, Nancy Pierre, Tara Stephenson, and Jordyn West.
