JBU Women’s Soccer Signs Three

Siloam Springs, Ark. (March 9, 2006) - The John Brown Golden Eagles recently signed three incoming freshmen to the women’s soccer team. Claire Stitt, a 5-5 midfielder from Kingwood, Texas, near Houston, played for Kingwood High School and the Texas Wave. Lizzie Nelson, a 5-9 midfielder from Edmond, Okla., was a teammate of John Brown goalkeeper Natalie Wall at Edmond Memorial High School and played club soccer for ESC ’88. Mikey Brannan, a 5-7 midfielder from Tulsa, played for Victory Christian High School and the Tulsa Soccer Club.

“All three girls are great fits for JBU,” head coach Joe Thoma said. “They come from good families and are all excellent students. Mikey played for one of the best club teams in the region, and she is an outstanding all-around athlete. Lizzie’s strength is passing, and Claire will really help us in the defensive midfield.”
