JBU Tennis Women Split Weekend Matches

Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 14, 2006) - The John Brown Golden Eagles competed last weekend in a weekend series of matches in Conway, Ark. On Friday, John Brown fell to host Hendrix (Ark.) 9-0, and on Saturday, the Golden Eagles reversed the score by blanking University of the Ozarks (Ark.) 9-0.

In the Saturday match doubles, the John Brown pair of Raynisha Robinson and Molly Keenan posted a dominating 8-1 win over the Ozarks pair of DevRene Bell and Amanda Stang. John Brown’s Silvy Perkins and Jennifer Trenchard also beat Lea Rana and Britany Hein 8-3. Erin Holguin and Nicole Ediger received a forfeit victory for John Brown.

In singles, Perkins swept Bell 6-0, 6-0; Robinson beat Rana 6-4, 4-6, 6-3; Trenchard bested Robin Gattis 8-4; Keenan beat Hein 8-5; and Holguin beat Stang 8-0. Ediger also won in a forfeit.

John Brown is now 3-3 on the season. The Golden Eagles’ next match is March 2 in Oklahoma City against Oklahoma Christian.
