JBU Women Fall Hard to Oklahoma Christian

Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 6, 2006) - The John Brown Golden Eagles took a tough 79-50 loss Saturday to 10th-ranked Oklahoma Christian in Oklahoma City. John Brown’s Kendra McCormick led all scorers with 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting. Rachel Martin led Oklahoma Christian (17-6, 10-2 SAC) with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Carlissa Plowden scored 13 points; Lauren Decker scored 11; and Mackenzie Walker and Katie Fariss each added 10. John Brown’s Lesli Fanning also scored 10.

Oklahoma Christian dominated all areas of the game, out-rebounding John Brown (15-8, 7-4 SAC) 36-23 and shooting 52% from the field, as opposed to the Golden Eagles’ 39.5%. Oklahoma Christian also made 20-of-27 free-throw attempts and forced 18 John Brown turnovers.

The Golden Eagles travel to Shawnee, Okla., Thursday to face St. Gregory’s at 6:00.
